Developed in collaboration with Studio Anyo, the Excelsior Developments project in Hendon involved the construction of 42 modern methods of construction (MMC) units by ESS Modular. These units comprised a selection of luxurious one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, complete with gardens, balconies, and underground parking facilities.
With Studio Anyo, we worked closely with the existing planning permission and redesigned it to align with MMC principles, allowing for a vertical extension.
My role in this project was to re-design the planning application and assist the modular supplier in successfully delivering the development during stages 4/5. This involved dividing the contract into two parts: the basement construction and the main MMC contract.
The construction process involved assembling the units to 80% completion in Ireland before transporting them to the site, where they were swiftly erected within three weeks. By adopting this modular approach, the project was efficiently completed within a short timeframe.
